Conversion of existing farm house into a Care home facility and construction of an Annex building.
Windmill farmhouse provides accommodation for four children and for staff to sleep in overnight.
An annexe built close to the home provided self-contained accommodation for two more older children who can live more independently.
Demolition of outbuildings on the farm, along with works to upgrade the access from Windmill Lane and to improve a track from the lane to the farm were also part of the development.
Due to the many “unknowns” buried inside this building, renovating ancient buildings can never be easy. For example, asbestos was found in several areas of the building that were hidden in the building fabric.
The TPS Construction site management team ensured any suspected Asbestos containing materials were tested where the asbestos was removed in accordance with The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 and HSG264.
Due to the nature of the site, TPS Construction knocked on doors, spoke to the local residents in the local community about the project, issued monthly newsletters and communicated on a regular basis to keep people informed.
